Description
The pharmacy Clinical Specialist I are expected to take responsibility for establishing and expanding clinical services in area of practice. Develop medication protocols, order sets and perform medication utilization reviews and PI projects to optimize drug therapy utilization. Provide mentorship and are a clinical resource for staff and other health care providers in area of expertise. Provides expertise in clinical activities relating to various clinical programs for the department of pharmacy in order to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Provide drug distributive functions as assigned. Demonstrate ability to work with the patients growth and development based upon population groups, and meet standards of quality as measured by the QI process.

Requirements
Degrees: Bachelor of Science required. Doctorate Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) preferred
Licenses & Certifications: Registered Pharmacist
Additional Qualifications: PGY1 and/or Board Certification of Pharmacy Specialty (BCPS) required within 1 years of hiring. If no residency training must have 5 years of practice experience in area of specialty required and Board Certification. (PGY1= 3 years of experience & PGY2= 2 additional years)
