Description
Statement of Purpose:
Certified Pharmacy Technicians/Interns assist Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory and maintaining patient records. Certified Pharmacy Technicians work only under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist. They do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered Pharmacist. Certified Pharmacy Technicians/Interns also participate in non-sterile and sterile compounding.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School diploma or GED. College courses desirable but not required. Minimum age of 18 years old.
Certification / License:
Active registration with Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy as a Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern. Current national pharmacy technician certification issued by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
Experience:
Successful completion of a minimum of 500 hours of employment as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee or successful completion of a Board approved Pharmacy Technician training program. In the case of a Pharmacy Intern, P3 or P4 standing.

Schedule: 40 hours, 3p -11:30p, as needed on weekends and occasional holidays.
MRMC Differentials:
Hospital differentials are: $3.50 hourly for evenings, $4.75 hourly for nights, and $2.75 hourly for weekends. All differentials are paid based per hospital policy.
